Favorite Quotation: "A man’s strength lies not in his physicality but his ability to lead with confidence, wisdom, faith, humility, a sense of fairness & humor, most of all love & the ability to thereby compliment in contrast, the femininity of the lady by his side."

I was born in 1964 so I'm pretty damned old but when I was 33, my husband was diagnosed as Morbidly Obese & myself as Significantly Obese. We started body building so we wouldn't die of obesity. By 2001 I was ready to compete & won my very first show. After that I won first place at every show except one which I prepared for while evacuated from my home during the Old Fire of 2003.

In 2004 I won my professional status as a Middle Weight at the NPC Nationals in Dallas, TX. I made my pro debut in September, 2006 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. My husband also competed at his first show in 2006 & kicked ass!
Losing the weight has done many things for me. It has made me confident, daring & unafraid to chase after my dreams. I have even been able to work as a Firefighter/EMT and train at Stunt School for movies. I currently work as a Personal Trainer because I like helping people.

My goal for the future however, (as is true with any pro) include working my way as close to being Ms. Olympia as possible. We, all of us, spend too much time saying the word "can't" instead of finding out that we "can." When will I quit? When duct taping the weights to my old wrinkled hands fails. ;.)

Training:
I, like many other people used to say that I didn’t have time to work out, which is why I get up for the gym at 3:45 a.m., so I can get to the gym when they open & workout before I go to work.

I train on a 3 day on, 1 day off schedule. Generally the order is: Back & Bi’s; Quads; Chest & Tri’s; Hams & Abs; Shoulders; Calves & Abs. Off-season I do ½ hour of cardio per day, but at contest time that increases to 2 hours per day, 1 in the morning & 1 at night. My diet consists of research, education, common sense & dedication. I stick to clean foods all year. Only the amounts change when I am competing.

My favorite part to work is Quads. My least favorite part to work is Quads. It’s a love-hate thing. My favorite exercise is the Leg Extension. It’s grueling, painful and I do them as heavy as I can for a drop-set of 100. I do them until tears are streaming down my face. When I stop it’s such a rush! My blood is pumped, warm & floods my extremities. That usually happens just after I stand up & before I hit the floor. Then it’s off to squats.
